What this amendment would do
Mr. Booker submitted amendment SA 2169, which creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund to protect small business owners.
What It Aims to Change or Add
This amendment allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make adjustments and revise allocations for legislation related to protecting small business owners. Specifically, this can include prohibiting politically motivated retaliation directed at State and local governments through the relocations and closures of Small Business Administration field offices announced since January 2025.
To keep our officials accountable and protect the people's hard-earned money, any legislation using this fund would not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
