What this amendment would do

Mr. Markey submitted this amendment to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to subsistence resources important to Alaska Native communities.

What It Aims to Change or Add

The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

These changes are for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports relating to ensuring the protection of subsistence resources important to Alaska Native communities in the Arctic. This can happen by the amounts provided in such legislation for those purposes, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
