What this amendment would do
-
Submitted by Mr. Ricketts, SA 2149 is an amendment intended for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14, which sets the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and establishes budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
-
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to prohibiting taxpayer-funded Federal housing funding to sanctuary cities that refuse to comply with Federal immigration laws.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. These revisions can be made for legislation relating to cutting off Federal housing funds to sanctuary cities, provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
