What this amendment would do
Mr. Kennedy submitted amendment SA 2131 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
The purpose of this amendment is to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund. This fund relates to prohibiting any unnecessary regulatory burden or government action from delaying the establishment of nuclear energy generation.
What It Aims to Change or Add
The amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make changes. Specifically, the Chairman may revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
The Chairman may also make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
These changes can only happen if the legislation relates to prohibiting any unnecessary regulatory burden or government action from delaying the establishment of nuclear energy generation, and provided that the legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
