What this amendment would do
-
Ms. Klobuchar submitted SA 2108 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
-
The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to expanding the child care workforce or the availability of child care facilities.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that assists States, territories, the District of Columbia, or tribal entities with these goals.
-
The changes can support providing competitive grants for child care workforce development or establishing, renovating, or expanding child care facilities in child care deserts.
-
The legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
