What this amendment would do
-
What it aims to do: This amendment creates a rule in the Senate that blocks the consideration of any bill, resolution, motion, amendment, or conference report that cuts taxes for taxpayers with an adjusted gross income greater than $1,000,000,000, as long as the most recent change in the Consumer Price Index shows an increase in food prices.
-
How it can be bypassed: This new rule can only be waived, suspended, or have its ruling sustained upon an appeal by an affirmative vote of three-fifths of the Senators duly chosen and sworn.
