What this amendment would do
MR. SCHIFF submitted SA 2098, which aims to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting Federal judges and their families. Common sense tells us this is about making sure our government has the financial flexibility to keep those who work in our courts safe without adding to the national debt.
Here is what the amendment aims to do according to the text:
- Allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise budget allocations, aggregates, and other levels.
- Make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to protecting Federal judges and their families.
- Include prohibiting cuts to Federal programs for hiring threat analysts, security specialists, or other personnel to help prevent or address threats to Federal judges and their families.
- Ensure the legislation does not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
