What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Cruz submitted this amendment, known as SA 2075, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
-
The purpose of the amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to school choice.
What It Aims To Change Or Add
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change allocations, aggregates, and other levels in the resolution.
-
It lets the Chairman make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for bills, resolutions, amendments, and reports that relate to providing quality education for the children of the United States.
-
This includes expanding educational opportunities for students to attend a private, public, homeschool, or religious school.
-
The changes can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total periods of fiscal years 2025 through 2029 or fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
