What this amendment would do
MR. BOOKER submitted amendment SA 2053, which aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to improving health outcomes to the concurrent resolution.
This change allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for legislation related to improving health outcomes, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
- Authorizes or funds programs to prevent the global spread of infectious diseases.
- Covers specific diseases including HIV/AIDS, Ebola virus disease, Marburg virus disease, Mpox, Polio, Tuberculosis, and Malaria.
