What this amendment would do
Mr. Peters submitted this amendment, numbered SA 2029, regarding the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and the budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to improving coverage for reproductive assistance under the Federal Employees Health Benefits program.
How It Changes the Bill
This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to improving the coverage for reproductive assistance for Federal employees and their spouses or partners under the program carried out under chapter 89 of title 5, United States Code.
This may include coverage for in vitro fertilization or other fertility treatments.
These adjustments can only be made if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
