What this amendment would do
Mr. Heinrich submitted amendment SA 2002, which proposes to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to decreasing wait times and preventing delayed services for veterans.
Purpose of the Amendment
-
The purpose is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
-
It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to delayed services provided by the Department of Veterans Affairs.
-
This includes the prevention of any increase in veteran wait times, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
