What this amendment would do

Mr. Wyden submitted SA 1991, which proposes to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting Social Security from privatization to the concurrent resolution.

Its Purpose and Goals

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make adjustments and revise allocations for legislation that prevents the Administration from stealing Americans' earned benefits, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.

  • Preventing the outsourcing or offshoring of Social Security Administration telephone services

  • Stopping the hand over of Social Security dollars to Wall Street hedge fund managers

  • Preventing private equity firms or artificial intelligence from determining eligibility for benefits or denying claims

  • Stopping the sale of Social Security field offices to real estate tycoons

  • Prohibiting the auctioning of Americans' private information to data brokers

  • Stopping the establishment of private digital identity vendors as the sole identity verification platform to access Social Security services
