What this amendment would do
Mr. Booker proposed amendment SA 1983 to the concurrent resolution on the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of this amendment is to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to putting patients over profits.
What It Aims to Change or Add
- It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It lets the Chairman make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
- It focuses on preventing changes to Medicare that might put shareholder profits or company revenues before patient outcomes and health, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
