What this amendment would do
Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment SA 1964, which is intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting jobs and manufacturers in the United States.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to supporting jobs and manufacturers in the United States, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
- Supporting jobs and manufacturers in the United States
- Preventing price increases on the half of all imports that are intermediate goods relied on by manufacturers in the United States
- Reducing lost export sales as a result of retaliatory trade measures in response to broad tariffs
