What this amendment would do
Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment numbered SA 1955 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund that relates to making home heating more affordable for United States families and seniors.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
These changes can be made for legislation relating to helping households afford home heating, which may include preventing funding reductions to the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program or Weatherization Assistance Program.
The legislation must not increase the deficit over the period of the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
