What this amendment would do

Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment SA 1951 to the concurrent resolution for the 2025 congressional budget. The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund that relates to supporting multi-State regional commissions.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that relates to supporting multi-State regional commissions, which may include the Northern Border Regional Commission.

  • It requires that any such legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
