What this amendment would do

Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment SA 1950, which proposes to add a reserve fund relating to reducing wasteful spending in the Federal crop insurance program to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.

The Purpose of the Amendment

The purpose of this amendment is to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. These revisions and adjustments can be made for legislation relating to reducing wasteful spending in the Federal crop insurance program authorized under the Federal Crop Insurance Act.

The amendment aims to add a reserve fund that can support legislation addressing the Federal crop insurance program. This legislation may include:

  • Limiting payments to larger corporate farms and higher-income operations
