What this amendment would do
Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment numbered SA 1946 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget. The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to policing and preventing fraud, price gouging, and algorithmic price discrimination.
The amendment aims to change the budget resolution by allowing the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to policing and preventing fraud, price gouging, and algorithmic price discrimination, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
