What this amendment would do
Mrs. Shaheen proposed SA 1937 to deal with the budget for the United States Government. As folks we voted into office handle our money, it is our job to keep an eye on them and make sure they are straight with us. This amendment sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund for community health centers.
What It Aims to Change or Add
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change certain budget allocations and adjustments.
-
These changes are meant for legislation related to preserving health care access through community health centers.
-
It may include supporting health insurance access for individuals and families.
-
It aims to prevent cuts to grant funding for community health centers.
-
It aims to ensure continued access to Medicaid and other reimbursements for medical care provided by community health centers.
-
All of this comes with the strict rule that the new legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
