What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Murphy submitted amendment numbered SA 1917 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
-
The amendment creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to the use of Presidential pardons.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.
-
These revisions and adjustments are for legislation relating to the use of Presidential pardons, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
-
The eligible legislation may include measures condemning the pardon of Thomas Webster's conviction for assaulting a law enforcement officer with a deadly or dangerous weapon.
