What this amendment would do

Senator Hassan submitted SA 1904, which is an amendment about setting up a deficit-neutral reserve fund.

  • The purpose of this amendment is to allow for changes to budget allocations and the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to reducing and expanding the housing supply to lower costs.

  • The amendment aims to give the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate the power to make these adjustments as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
