What this amendment would do
Mr. Reed submitted amendment numbered SA 1895, which is intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 congressional budget.
Purpose and Changes
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting veterans and servicemembers from being scammed by financial institutions.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to veterans and servicemembers, including protecting them from financial institution scams, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
