What this amendment would do
Mr. Van Hollen submitted amendment numbered SA 1870 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to reducing or eliminating junk fees imposed on Americans.
What It Aims to Change or Add
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
-
It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports that relate to reducing or eliminating junk fees imposed on Americans.
-
These revisions and adjustments can only happen as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
