What this amendment would do
-
Mr. Coons submitted amendment SA 1852.
-
The amendment sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund.
-
It focuses on requiring federal agencies to disburse amounts to grant recipients who have signed legal obligations with the federal government to get money that was legally appropriated by Congress.
-
This includes funds made available under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger for certain bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
-
The condition is that this legislation would not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
