What this amendment would do

Mrs. Shaheen submitted amendment numbered SA 1821 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting United States farmers. It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

This change applies to legislation relating to supporting United States farmers, which may include protecting and continuing vital food assistance programs that purchase crops from United States farmers and distribute United States-grown commodities to combat hunger throughout the world. These adjustments can be made as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
