What this amendment would do

Mr. Lujan submitted amendment numbered SA 1715. The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to providing broadband to rural Americans.

This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make changes and adjustments to financial allocations, aggregates, and the pay-as-you-go ledger. These adjustments are for legislation that supports initiatives to provide affordable and reliable high-speed broadband to people living in rural areas of the United States.

To make these adjustments, the legislation must meet one specific rule. It cannot increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
