What this amendment would do

Mr. Luján submitted amendment SA 1713, which was proposed to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the 2025 congressional budget. The purpose of this amendment is to establish a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to the investigation of cases of missing and murdered Indigenous persons.

This amendment aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for various types of legislation, such as bills or amendments. These changes can be made for legislation relating to supporting initiatives for investigating cases of missing and murdered Indigenous persons, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
