What this amendment would do
Mr. Luján submitted amendment numbered SA 1708 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget. Common sense tells us we need to keep a close eye on how our elected officials handle money, especially when it comes to keeping our personal information safe.
-
The amendment sets up a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to protecting personal data stored at the Social Security Administration.
-
It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other levels.
-
It also lets the Chairman make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that protects the data stored at the Social Security Administration.
-
This applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
