What this amendment would do

Mr. Welch submitted SA 1684 as an intended amendment to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 congressional budget and the budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to addressing the impacts of disasters in rural communities at the end of title III.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to addressing the impacts of disasters in rural communities, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
