What this amendment would do
Mr. Welch submitted SA 1679, which proposes an addition to title III of the concurrent resolution for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
-
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to supporting conservation districts across the Federal Government that have been unjustly impacted by the administration of President Trump and cuts made by Elon Musk to climate initiatives.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation that supports these conservation districts, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
