What this amendment would do

Mr. Welch submitted the amendment, known as SA 1670, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14, which establishes the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and sets forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

Purpose and Changes

  • The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to preserving United States-Denmark relations.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to preserving United States-Denmark relations, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
