What this amendment would do
Mr. Kaine submitted amendment SA 162 to the concurrent resolution for the federal budget for fiscal year 2025 and levels through 2034.
-
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to promoting the health, safety, welfare, and rights of individuals who live in long-term care facilities.
-
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-u-go ledger.
-
These revisions and adjustments are for legislation relating to promoting the health, safety, welfare, and rights of individuals who live in long-term care facilities, which may include enhancing the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program.
-
The legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
