What It Aims to Change or Add
-
The amendment adds a new section requiring the Director of the Congressional Budget Office to prepare an analysis for certain bills or resolutions.
-
This analysis applies to each public bill or resolution reported by any committee of the House of Representatives or the Senate that would increase carbon pollution from fossil fuels.
-
The analysis must examine the effect of the legislation on the costs of homeowner property insurance, products, and commodities caused by the effect of that legislation on climate change.

The Congressional Budget Office must submit this analysis to the applicable committee, to the extent practicable.
