What this amendment would do

Mrs. Blackburn submitted amendment SA 1608 to be proposed to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14, which establishes the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and sets forth budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of the amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to advancing President Trump's Executive Order Defending Women from Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
  • It permits adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to advancing Executive Order 14168.
  • It requires that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
