What this amendment would do

Mr. King submitted amendment numbered SA 1558 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the congressional budget for fiscal year 2025 and budgetary levels for 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to access to health care.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Budget to change committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports related to access to health care.

This includes legislation protecting services provided through Medicaid, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
