As folks looking out for the public good and holding our officials accountable, we need to know what our elected representatives are trying to do with our budget. This amendment, numbered SA 1550, was submitted by Ms. Warren alongside Mr. Markey.

What the Amendment Does

  • The amendment aims to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the concurrent resolution.

  • Its specific purpose is to relate to protecting the privacy and data security of Massachusetts veterans who work for the Federal Government as an employee, contractor, or grantee.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make adjustments and revise allocations for future legislation as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
