What this amendment would do

Ms. Warren, along with Mr. Markey, submitted SA 1531 to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14, which sets the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and outlines the budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund at the end of title III relating to protecting Federal funding for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority.

It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for legislation relating to protecting Federal funding for the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
