What this amendment would do

Mr. King submitted an amendment, known as SA 1521, to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 congressional budget.

What It Aims to Change or Add

The amendment adds a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the budget resolution. This fund relates to preventing access to sensitive systems and confidential data at the Social Security Administration by the Department of Government Efficiency.

It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for specific bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports. These adjustments are allowed as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
