What this amendment would do

  • Mr. King submitted amendment numbered SA 1520 to the concurrent resolution establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.

  • The amendment creates a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to legislation that does not increase tax breaks for wealthy corporations.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

  • These adjustments are allowed for legislation relating to legislation that does not reduce the average tax liability of corporations with income over $1,000,000,000.

  • The changes can only happen if the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
