What this amendment would do
Mr. King submitted amendment SA 1505 to the concurrent resolution on the budget for fiscal year 2025. The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to obstetrics and gynecology health care.
What It Aims to Change or Add
- It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.
- It allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports.
- The legislation must relate to health care for servicemembers, which may include access to obstetrics and gynecology health care or prevention providers for Coast Guard personnel temporarily or permanently assigned to remote duty stations.
- The changes are allowed as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
