What this amendment would do
Mr. Welch submitted this amendment, known as SA 1495, to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
- The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to improving rural access to nutrition programs.
- It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and adjust the pay-as-you-go ledger.
- These changes can be made for bills, joint resolutions, amendments, amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports that relate to improving rural access to Federal nutrition assistance programs.
- The only rule is that this legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
