  1. Introduced
  2. Pending Consideration

What this amendment would do

  • Mr. Welch submitted SA 1490 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.

  • The purpose is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund related to prohibiting policies that would result in a reduction in the number of renewable energy industry jobs in the United States.

What It Aims to Change or Add

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution.

  • It allows adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to prohibiting policies that would result in the elimination of renewable energy industry jobs in the United States.

  • This may include prohibiting reductions in investments in domestic renewable energy production, manufacturing, technologies, supply chains, or the domestic renewable energy workforce, provided the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
