What this amendment would do
MR. WELCH submitted amendment numbered SA 1480 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
The purpose of this amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund that relates to prohibiting the reduction or elimination of Medicaid funding for hospitals and health centers that have a rural designation.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This can be done for legislation relating to prohibiting the reduction or elimination of Medicaid funding for rural-designated hospitals and health centers, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through 2034.
