What this amendment would do

Mr. Coons submitted amendment SA 1447, which is intended to be proposed for the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal years 2025 through 2034.

The purpose of this amendment is to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to feeding hungry children and supporting American farmers. It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger.

This applies to legislation related to feeding hungry children and supporting American farmers. Specifically, it may include reinstating funding for the emergency food assistance program under the Emergency Food Assistance Act of 1983 and other programs supporting food banks, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
