What this amendment would do
Mr. Bennet submitted SA 1440, which is an amendment intended to be proposed to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14, establishing the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal years 2026 through 2034.
The purpose of the amendment is to add a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to expanding the use of private activity bonds for affordable or middle-income housing production at the end of title III.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. These revisions and adjustments can be made for legislation relating to expanding the use of private activity bonds for affordable or middle-income housing production by the amounts provided in such legislation, provided that the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
