What this amendment would do
Ms. Hirono submitted amendment SA 1432 to the concurrent resolution on the congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year 2025.
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to enhancing Department of Defense energy resilience.
It aims to allow the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise committee allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels, and make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger. This applies to legislation relating to enhancing Department of Defense energy resilience, as long as that legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
The legislation mentioned may include initiatives that improve mission readiness or the energy resilience of Department of Defense infrastructure, or mitigate impacts from climate change or associated events.
