What this amendment would do
Mr. Ossoff submitted amendment SA 1427 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14.
Purpose of the Amendment
The purpose of this amendment is to create a deficit-neutral reserve fund relating to reversing cuts to the Social Security Administration.
What it Aims to Change or Add
The amendment allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to revise allocations, aggregates, and other appropriate levels in the resolution. It also allows the Chairman to make adjustments to the pay-as-you-go ledger for legislation relating to reversing cuts to the Social Security Administration.
Specifically, the text notes that these reversals may include cuts ordered by Elon Musk or any other cuts to seniors' benefits, as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
