What this amendment would do

  • This amendment aims to add a new rule to the Senate budget process.

The Purpose

  • The purpose is to protect the people we voted for by holding them accountable regarding Federal wildland firefighters. It creates a point of order in the Senate against considering any bill, joint resolution, motion, amendment, amendment between the Houses, or conference report that would subject Federal wildland firefighters to a workforce reduction.

How It Can Be Overridden

  • This rule can only be waived, suspended, or have its ruling sustained by a three-fifths vote of the sworn Members of the Senate.
