What this amendment would do
As folks looking out for the hard-earned money of the American people, we need to keep a close eye on what our elected officials are trying to do with the budget. Ms. Rosen submitted amendment SA 1418 to the concurrent resolution H. Con. Res. 14 for the fiscal year 2025 budget.
What the Amendment Aims to Do
This amendment adds a deficit-neutral reserve fund to the bill. Its purpose is to support the purchase of vaccines for men, women, and children in developing countries, with the goal of preventing the spread of infectious diseases to the United States.
To make this happen, the amendment allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to change budget allocations and make adjustments for legislation related to this vaccine purpose. The only rule here is that this legislation must not increase the deficit over the total period of fiscal years 2025 through 2034.
