What this amendment would do

  • Ms. Rosen submitted SA 1417 to set up a deficit-neutral reserve fund.

  • The purpose of this fund is to deal with the impacts of corporate mergers on grocery prices.

  • It allows the Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate to make changes and adjustments to allocations, aggregates, and the pay-as-you-go ledger for certain legislation.

  • This applies as long as the legislation does not increase the deficit from fiscal year 2025 through fiscal year 2034.
